I was wondering about that too. Here’s a lightly edited version of what diehard.wikia.com has to say:

The show’s writers may well have gone too far by trying to tie Philip to a sex scandal that he probably had nothing to do with, but noting that they’ve been “called out by the Daily Mail” for it is not exactly the best way to support your argument. The Mail is one of the UK’s shittiest daily newspapers.
It does seem like more could be said, doesn’t it? Amongst other things, the fact that he is, unfortunately, the second member of the Young family to pass away recently - his older brother George (co-producer of, I think, all the band’s Bon Scott-era albums, and a notable musician in his own right) died just last…
At the very end of this 60-second video, the man himself (well, David Suchet) says it in what seems like a fairly authentic-sounding prounciation to me:
That’s crazy talk! You skipped over some of Tolkien’s finest wordsmithery:
Going by what the Duffer brothers have said thus far about how they see the show evolving over its planned four (or five) seasons, it’s likely to all be variations on the 80s nostalgia/homage theme, so, yeah: anyone who didn’t like Stranger Things 1 probably isn’t going to be won over by any of the storytelling that…
“Jack O’Dell, Pete Freeling, Rick Neary, the Christensens”...? I’m not so good on American pop culture references, but those names don’t mean anything to me.

I’ve always thought that the way the word is used by Ed (Nick Frost) in Shaun of the Dead, and the other characters’ reactions to it, is a pretty good summation of its acceptability in British society:
Yes - Gary Satan, from the Hollywood Small Business Development Center. He’s an invaluable resource.
Where is Manimal at these days, anyway?
And true. (As well as being Japanese for Japan, of course.)
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they’re telling us that Eleven is a replicant.
That was pretty much my reaction too (though perhaps I enjoyed it a little more than you did). I’m kind of surprised to find out it’s the minority view.
If you’ve never seen the original movie at all, I think the sequel might prove a little hard to follow, because a) it leans quite heavily on the original movie, and b) I’m not sure that the script makes a hell of a lot of sense. Even so, it’s probably still worth seeing (though it might pay to get acquainted with the…
Whoever thought we’d actually miss the days of being able to earn $8752 every four weeks, and any number of shiny new Land Rover Range Rovers?
God knows I don’t want to defend any aspect of this show, but Kunal Nayyar is actually using his real accent, more or less: the actor was born in the U.K., but raised in India.
Oh, I get it: this is kind of like one of those “title drop” videos where characters say the name of the movie they’re in, except that those videos are entertaining and occasionally illuminating, whereas as this is just stupid.
... aaannnd A.V. Club Sessions rolls on! This week, featuring the band that presumably named themselves after the long-defunct soda pop favored by Walter “Radar” O’Reilly in the long-defunct TV sitcom, M*A*S*H! All right! Timely!
Computer code isn’t my strong suit, but as I understand it, this is what Kinja does whenever the moon is in Aquarius and one’s humours are out of balance.
