I admire your bravery in putting Dark Souls 2 up there. Its a game that deserves so much love than it gets. Its undeniably a mess but you can really get lost in that mess in a way you can’t really with DS3.

Demon’s Souls is easily my series favorite due to the sheer atmospheric tension and the haunting beauty of it all, soundtrack included. Setting aside the technical improvements present in the third game, Dark Souls 2, at least the Scholar of the First Sin release, is my favorite soulslike game and I find it to be superior to the first Dark Souls in pretty much every way.
