I'm a St Andrews alumni. I remember reading that comment. I honestly don't believe it. You can't get a degree from St Andrews without being reasonably intelligent and doing the work. She would have had to do a dissertation for her degree as well and there's no way to fake that.

It's because basically the entire film was rotoscoped, which means they recorded real people acting everything out then traced each frame. It actually has the opposite effect than what you would think and makes all the animation look akward and inconstant instead of realistic.
