Although I don’t disagree and also find them annoying, I have to say DOOM made it good enough to not be annoying. And you DID need the downtime for exploration. Plus, they weren’t so far in-between to make them feel annoying. Although I was expecting much more carnage in Hell.

I used it as a great “leaper”. You stagger a demon in a far place, then have the quick&reach+stagger+armor runes and you get extra jumping distance, plus a HELL more movement thorough out the stage.

Even if I had the money, I’d still take the “I’ll help you get the money so you get your own car, but here’s a start” approach.
