Disagree.
Disagree.
I want it. Put it directly into my veins.
This looks amazing. And I don’t even like musicals! But I love this show for taking such a crazy, big risk, and I have full faith it will be a treat.
It’s possible for other people to have different preferences. I liked Tenet the first time, but I really loved it on repeat viewings, which it rewards. Unfortunately, no one who didn’t like it the first was ever going to bother seeing it again.
It’s worth pointing out that in today’s studio budgets, Oppenheimer ($100M) kind of IS a mid-budget picture.
But I certainly hope that you’re right, and we’re close to a turning point in the industry that allows for smaller, more creative movies to get made and get some attention. Cinema is an art form and an…
We won’t have a choice. The big international companies are shifting to EVs across the other big markets in Asia and Europe, and the economies of scale just don’t make sense to keep on making ICE vehicles for the US market alone. We’ll be like England in the 70s and 80s with its highly idiosyncratic and antiquated…
“it’s not even kind of interested in functioning as the second part of a trilogy”
Focusing on making a good movie isn’t JJ’s strong suit and I think the studio enabled JJ’s pettiness to get the Emperor back in the story.
I’ll give you the visuals. They were the best part of the film to me.
It was a brief summation because writing about all the problems of TLJ would take way tooo long.
Lol, I wish I was the cool guy who is really stylishly dressed.
They did the impossible: they made the prequels look good by comparison.
Rise of Skywalker was objectively the worst of the three movies, taken as a whole. However, Rian Johnson turning Finn, Poe and Rose into mutineers responsible for the destruction of most of the fleet probably sticks in the actors’ craws a bit.
The Last Jedi is the cool guy at the party who is really stylishly dressed and looks like he has shit together. Then you talk to him and you realized that he is a pompous dipshit with a college freshman’s understanding of dramatic structure and tension.
“We overcounted the deaths!!! It’s just a coincidence that 25% more people died during covid due to random reasons that had nothing to do with covid and only during covid.”
I knew when I clicked on this story there would some conspiracy theorizing goober in the comments.
It is NOT operating the same as it always was. Do you know anyone who works at SpaceX? Musk is an attention whore and likes to be the face of the company but the company, behind the scenes, is led by others and up until recently, Musk stayed out of it. He was much more distracted/involved in Tesla — which is how…
Correction - NASA’s system, which goes back decades, is not intended to silence the launch. It is intended to break up the harmonics that launch sounds create.
Reusable rockets, single-use launch pads. Flip the script, consider rocketry disrupted.
Absolutely insane that they were allowed to even test a full bore launch without this.
