Counterpoint, Joss  has never made a  good movie in his career. No amount of money or time would  help him. 

Snyder  always works best when he has  others restraining his impulses. DoD as  you mention  and  MoS  work  so  well  because  of  this.  He had the  Nolans, Romero,  Gunn  and  others  regulating him.  

Snyder is best behind a camera, not in the directors or writers chair His creative vision needs to be reined in or he gets out of control.

That is part of the problem, and who so many of the “good” super hero movies stand out.

I think the handwringing we see from members of the filmmaking industry precisely about how “you MUST see our new movie in the theatres THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE SEEN” is eyerolling and insufferable.

OK but for every person who makes that claim there are probably a dozen who go apeshit over a TV show or movie deviating from that character’s comic book look

you know the comics are separate from other mediums right? They dont have to abide by anything that happened in the comics, hey the comics change more often than not.

Between Omni, and the new variants, which early indication is they hit worse, it does not look like this is going to be an enjoyable back half of the summer.

Counterpoint: Tom Holland was not good in the last Spidey movie either. He was just kind of their being overshadowed by other actors and characters in his movie.

We have been watching 3 hour long movies in theatres for 80 years. People need to stop having issues with movie run times.
