That’s really gross and plays right in to the conservative ‘death panel' argument about healthcare for all.

I agree with the idea of not making vaccinated people subsidize externalities in the system caused by unvaccinated people’s ridiculousness; I just wish this sort of action didn’t come down to the individual discretion of private actors and capitalists. Regardless, good on them.

Many of them might not. My sister worked on a covid unit at the beginning of covid in march-may 2020 and later transferred to a non-covid unit. She said everyone who worked on covid units “got it” and got vaccinated as soon as that became available. People who worked in non-covid units often downplayed covid and

I feel like Khloe is providing young people with a service in terms of understanding the likely outcomes of situations. Tristan’s ex was birthing his child when he and Khloe started dating. One year later, she got pregnant with his child without any sort of commitment (engagement, marriage), he cheated on her, she

Right, like at the VERY least that should be happening. If people have concerns about being forced to shelter in place, I don’t understand at all what the major objection is to “the government sent me free tests and higher quality masks.”

Because I don’t really want to hoard masks, I’m now basically just SOL for a bit

If I was not currently teaching and seeing my class numbers drop this week from 25 students per class to 10 or fewer, I would agree with you.

Aside from everything else, the US government should absolutely be contracting for and giving out for free N95 masks to anyone in this country who wants them. Why they aren’t churning these things out by the millions for free dispersal at this point is beyond me:

It less to do with “cringe” and more with an apartheid supporter singing songs about no countries, borders, peace, etc while supporting policies like IDF snipers targeting the knees of peaceful protestors to the point of bragging of of getting “42 knees in one day” and purposely targeting children.

That’s not an unpopular opinion. It’s been the position and recommendation of public health officials and healthcare providers since at least Fall 2020. The data on school vs community transmission support this. As long as there’s enough staff to support in person learning, schools should stay open.

It feels less cringe now because we all have pandemic fatigue and other people have said/done so much worse over the past 2 years. At the beginning when rona first hit, a bunch of celebrities sitting in their massive mansions crooning badly and saying “we’re all in this together” while poor people suffered and died

We went through that very brief period at the beginning of all of this in which we offered “hero pay” to people and began acting as if maybe teachers really do deserve to be treated well - and it feels like, for a ton of people, it totally evaporated.

The rebuttal I usually get to what I’ll say is that we can’t fix

It was sickening. This man was Sec of State.

Nope. State of Arizona sued her/Theranos and settled for millions for the people who were given faulty tests.  Some people bought the machine for at home testing.

I’m hoping people who had blood tested with that idiot machine of hers file a civil law suit. One woman, who had a history of miscarriages, had tests done on the Edison at her Dr’s office and it read the protein levels incorrectly which indicated she had miscarried. She was still pregnant.

If ever there was a silver lining...

I’ve mentioned it here before, but this seems like a prime moment to weigh in as a cishet woman whose spouse came out as gay after we’d been married for ten years.

Britni uses they, not she, it’s in their bio under the piece. For future reference.

I believe she understand the criticism, but she wants to reframe it on twitter.

Let me just clarify what we all know has happened. This liberal white woman in a hetero relationship, while immersing herself in the lives of these mostly queer, mostly BIPOC former athletes...completely lost her sense of identity within them. She started referring to them as “elders” and modeling her life in ways she
