lol the one they chose for Hong Kong, if not one of less scary, at least one of less grotesque. Warning: skulls!

hahah "China" - the infinately loaded term. Yes, afaik NEXT media (owners of Apple Daily) doesn't or isn't allowed to operate in the PRC proper, only in HK and Taiwan.

I don't want to sound like a prick, but Hong Kong and China have different equivalents, partly because they're different markets with different venacular and ways of writing; partly because Hong Kong doesn't have the same censorship and some publications are that illegal on the mainland are legal in Hong Kong. In HK

To elaborate on what Dogen said, the National Peoples' Congress enacted the Basic Law of Hong Kong, which is based on the idea of "One Country, Two Systems". Perhaps this is best expressed by Article 5:

yea, don't remember any great massages places on Canal, only on the side streets

Totally hahah. You can read articles from abroad right now, I'm in Hong Konga and i just read it. Dunno about after the subscription, but I'm sure they'll sell you a digital subscription overseas :/

I have both a M13 and Filco with MX Browns... turns out the IBM is just a bit too heavy on the keys for my taste.

That said, there is a significant difference in feel between Cherry Blues (and other Cherrys) and buckling spring. I agree if you just want any mechcanical board out there Model Ms are available cheap, but if you like Cherry imo they're worth paying for.

heh. The exact style of the effects would probably be better recieved in the Japan market.

I agree to some extent - I know a lot of people who would be well served by a 15" but thinner and lighter laptop with a ULV or other efficient CPU and an SSD, a different kind of 'consumer high end'

looks handy for HTPC or non-desktop use, normally on a desk it doesn't matter unless you're a real neat freak but on the lap or wherever not on a desk, there'd be less juggling to do

@Canoehead: Why? Just another $1 component on the iPad, why not?

Ever seen those action figures in Japan where they'll make one with your own face on it? iirc there's one for a Kamen Rider series and one of Char Anzable from Gundam.

@beanperry: Though Android 2.2 works fine on a bigger screen, it currently lacks the infrastructure - UI and apps - to really take advantage of the extra screen space. It's also quite fully featured for a mobile OS. That may change in the near future, catalyzed by 3.0 honeycomb.

@Grindhouse Murders: Good summary. There's a profit in there as well: different companies want to differentiate so they can avoid commodization, get a badge of recognition and charge a higher price on their goods. So the minimalist design is unstable, since there's very little differentiation you can do with it.

@Canoehead: Why, if I can do it all on the iPad?

@Canoehead: I'm going to copy my prior posts from Engadget last time this topic came up:

@superhappyfuntime: I thought that was the smartest part of the thing, really. The rest had a bit too much self-abuse for me.

heh. Designers geek GO!
