This is the very hottest of hot takes.

Ok, games with big budgets or games that do a really impressive job of *looking* like they have big budgets :P

Man, that is a super fascinating chunk of data. Is there a way to review it beyond the few tables they provide at the end?

I mean, they're sampling songs that were top 3 hits. It's hard to get a more objective measure of what was popular and representative at that time.

AAA studios play it way too damn safe but there are still innovative gameplay ideas happening in the indie world.

I don't know, I think SeXbox has a nice ring to it.

“What do you think?”

The “outside mobile games” is a part of what gets me. It seems like the basic template of “you can decorate stuff and collect stuff” is a pretty common thing amongst indie and ftp games. My confusion isn’t that some people would be into that, it’s why this one can sell 10+ million copies and take over social media

In my several decades of being a gaming fan, I don't think I have ever been so perplexed by the popularity of a game. Good for them and the people enjoying it but I find it so confusing!

I find the “infinite” SP games comment a bit weird considering the vast number of GaS there are out there right now. I can’t really imagine anyone saying that there aren’t enough GaS's today.

So if it’s bad....?

Relatable, I guess, but “here is a thing that sometimes happens” isn't automatically good comedy....

Hello. I would like you to know that I think Corpse Run is consistently the worst comic in this group.

This was my thought as well. Like, how many Steam users have even a mid-range gaming PC vs an 8 year old laptop with no graphics card? I'm guessing the *vast* majority of Steam accounts are closer to the latter than to the former.

Honestly, more and more I’m of the mindset that the anonymous “small but vocal subset” should be ignored as much as possible, unless they become more than anonymous voices. The impulse to call people like this out at every opportunity just adds fuel to an exhausting fire.

Comment section be like “I bet someone somewhere is mad that they’re including women! That makes me mad!”

I'd find this much more appealing if the thing you were shooting made sounds that actually sounded like an instrument and blender in nicely with the music.

Dudes....why you be posting about a few pieces from this museum when a little institution known as The Met is doing the same thing with hundreds of their pieces.

It’s pretty great that an article about how video game companies should do better about toxic players has as its top comment someone spewing childish insults everywhere. Maybe said video game websites should first do better about preventing toxic comment sections.

People sell their Minecraft creations?? People buy other people's Minecraft creations???
