There are programs to help families in need that are much better equiped to fairly distribute donations. Throwing your money at one cause because it envolves video games and turning a blind eye to the rest is irresponsible. She has just as much access to these programs as everyone else if she's truly in need.

@Antiterra: I agree with much of what you said but I think the problem here is this blog's endorsement of this particular case. What earns her this endoresement? How many people will donate to her instead of someone else because of this endorsement? There are the kinds of things that are best done locally so that

I don't see the draw of this over any currently available controller chargers that you can buy at almost half the price.

NOT a good idea. I can think of several clean searches that start bad.

Everytime I'm selected to be a groomsman I'm reminded of this horrible fact. An easy way to gain 4 inches in your waist is to get fitted for a tux.

I'm pretty sure anyone who is happy enough or otherwised forced to use a 2+ year old phone isn't suddenly going to pull out the checkbook for Game Center. All this is is a opportunity for Apple to gain ill-will from its users. I honestly don't see how they can make this decision. Sometimes I think Steve is just

Help me out here, Game Center is not an "always running" app right? So what the hell do lower specs matter? It appears to me that it's nothing but a lobby with not much functionality itself, with game invites using push notifications. I just don't get the exclusion.

@FourOhOne: I take it then that Apple copied everyone else for years when they made computers with plastic.

So Apple copyrighted Aluminum?

I hate Facebook as much as the next guy but Ping definitely would have made a significant infrastructure impact. Good for them for not letting Apple push them around.

Apple needs to take a page from Microsoft's book when it comes to supporting old products. If Apple really wants to market this to the Average Joe they need to prove that it would be obsolete in 3 years. Sure, the tech savvy upgrade their stuff all the time but not joe. My parents are still using a 7 year old

@Necroscope: There's nothing wrong with a healthy debate on the internet but you turned into nothing more than "I'm right and you're wrong". Also, there's no difference between not witnesseing an event and witnessing something else. Unless you are insinuating that by witnessing nothing that I was in a coma or

@badasscat: I'd say the target age group for the Apple TV is considerably lower than that of an XBox 360 gamer.

I think there's officially a market for Apple TV but $20 cheaper and it would fly off shelves. It's just too close to the price of a cheap HTPC.

@xperiate: For a gamer, sure. But not everyone plays video games.

@badasscat: The Roku player is plenty successful at doing just as little.

@badasscat: I get what you're saying but if Apple TV does 100% of what you need it to do it's no less functional to you and half the price. My mom isn't going to pay double the price so she can play Gears of War . Not to mention the XBox Live membership dues...

I think with iTunes 10 Apple will see the downside to the free hype before their launches. Ping? Really? Not quite the streaming service we were hoping for. I think we have enough social networks.

So they've eliminated the camera from the nano
