@Bloodoflamb: The left and right analog sticks are most often used in tandem to control movement. It makes sense to have them at the same position. I don't see how the xbox is more ergonomical in this sense. By your logic the right stick should be place high as well.

Say what you want about the ergonomics of the PS3 controller, but the side by side analog sticks and triggers are superior.
