My dad, an ex-Marine who hung out with hippies in SF's Panhandle during the 60's, thought that Shore was the coolest thing on MTV and he always insisted that I run to the TV whenever he was on.

I grew up in SD and have a shotgun I use twice a year for pheasant hunting. But also believe that sometimes guns are used in situations where they are not needed. I don't even know what side I'm on, but this didn't seem like misuse of a firearm, so I presented what I saw....

This is why things like his podcasts with guys like Zach Lowe, who will call him on his bullshit (there are at least two moments in every Lowe podcast where Simmons says something and Lowe just starts going "whoah, whoah, whoah ..."), are significantly better than his columns these days.
