-So, that spooky shit with Evil Coop in the prison was BOB fucking with the electrical system right? Lodge spirits can travel through wires iirc.

wew, bob, wew

Yes, despite not liking James very much I thought it was quite touching, maybe due to just missing the show so much that even James is a welcome sight and the knowledge of the actor's health troubles since the original airing.

Probably my favourite BOB scene; watched it late at night and felt seriously ill at ease wandering downstairs for a cup of tea. It's that classic Lynchian trick of making the mundane seem alien and sinister.

Yeah but then he does it again with Maddy. Then he falls in love with Evelyn.

This is my interpretation as well, though I am surprised at the present state of Twin Peaks; I imagined it would be something of a ghost town at this point as a result of job losses, the lingering spectre of the Palmer murders and the general weirdness of the Black Lodge.

"Gordon Cole is a bit of a creep toward his young female employees"

I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!

You make one joke at the expense of the deaf and you never hear the end of it.

Yep; it's kinda like the whole "plastic reality" aesthetic - the effects are so much more effective for their deliberate offness. Pure Lynchian goodness.

I heard that afterwards Lynch used the ashes in a painting that demonstrates the essential duality of human beings and that it also contains an evil spirit called Steve.

I think my favourite closing song so far has been Lark by Au Revoir Simone; I found it's sense of wistfulness fit the series perfectly.

Could be wrong, but this episode seems to confirm (for me at least) the idea that the show is slowly returning to the classic Twin Peaks vibe; more returning characters, more offbeat wackiness and more overt references to the mythology.

I was quite happy to see Denise return. Think that she may well be the first completely positive portrayal of a trans character I ever saw on TV.

My dharma is the road. Your dharma is . . .

Cenk's one of those guys you don't like to agree with even when you think he's right.

Well we're alright.

Nothing wrong with a delay; the last thing I want from a sequel to a game I dearly love is a buggy rush job. Looking forward to that gunslinging goodness.

Jesus, that's steep. My opinion of Snyder's work doesn't mitigate my empathy for him as a person; losing a loved one is always difficult and losing a child to suicide - I can't imagine how vast and sharp that sorrow must be. I'll have a good thought for him and his family.

Might sound pretentious, but I like it when a work challenges and forces me to engage, rather than pandering to me. It's nice to watch something that doesn't feel the need to beat me over the head with exposition and is content to let mystery take root.
