I have an older coworker, and there's many stories I could tell, of how she will take a client 15 miles in the wrong direction to drop someone off, but I think my favorite story is this:

I went to someone's house today to change their arming code for their system because "I can't do it over the phone because I know someone's hacked my phone!" Had to charge her 50 bucks for the pleasure of her crazy lady presence. (Seriously, like fringe halo of unkempt hair, bright old-lady pink lipstick, apartment…
Lol it kind of is. And Ratqueens is a decent comic. I would tell you the actual name of the band, but I fear I've already given away too many specifics. Thank you for the platform to publicly vent, New Friend.
If only. And she still spams up my wall and inbox with flyers for her stupid band. I'm never EVER coming to your band, ratbitch.
Ooh I just remember one from last year. My co-TA was a stone cold bitch. She would act really cool and buddy buddy with me, but whenever things got nitty gritty she was such a selfish asshole. The prime example being this story. Toward the end of the quarter two students asked to take the final a day late because they…
I don't have crummy coworker stories right now, but I have awful customer stories.
I'm a TA for a college professor. He couldn't figure out how to upload something to the class website so he decided that we had "too much data" on it. So naturally he deletes the four class review .pdf files 1 week before finals. All the students panicked and emailed us. I was able to figure out what Dr. Genius did…
A middle school SS teacher of mine had the same thing happen to a friend. She had a dip bowl of the stuff out for a Christmas party and her friend scooped a whole tortilla chip's worth into her mouth just as she screamed "Debbie, NO!!!"
The problem is that the Fox News Crew and others are giving white holdouts excuses to pretend these killings aren't racially motivated. BUT if they could see how the police 'respond' to protesters (including white ones) ... the level of menace and even violence heaped on peaceful protesters...they might change their…
No white person wants to admit racism is a problem because then they have to give up their privilege (many of us do anyway, but not enough)...but at the same time, we are social beings who want to be accepted...and we are more likely to be swayed by someone we admire and/or love...so the longer the protests last...the…
My FB "close friends" are neither conservatives nor co-workers. My co-workers are like white privilege bingo: what about the white children? All lives matter! Etc.
Yep. It happens a lot. My Annoying Coworker is the Golden Child so my supervisor always takes her side. If I tell her I won't do something for her, she'll run and tattle to my supervisor, who usually makes me do it anyway. I just know that when she was an Annoying Kindergartner, she was the one who always tattled on…
Good point.
Honestly, I don't even think that most Americans know what a grand jury is. They believe that the officer went to trial and was acquitted by a jury. At least based on a few conversations I have had.
It also would surely have made a difference in the Brown case. It's one thing to look at the Garner case and come up with some bullshit about he was resisting arrest. It's another thing to have first-person video of shooting somebody with their hands up and try to come up with a narrative to excuse that.
Also a few days ago in Rosebud, Missouri civil right marchers were racially abused by so many people (they were called the n-word, had fried chicken and watermelon thrown at them). Someone also shot at a window and shattered the glass, i feel sick.
Had I not married a "Man of color", I would not know what I now know, having been witness to his treatment by (some) other Americans (even other POC). THank goodness, it has been more bank tellers putting long holds on his checks, and ladies pulling their purses closer as he passes. He was pulled over three times…
I want to be shocked, but the last few years have taught me I'm wrong. Like the Chris Rock joke has shown, FB has been a great app fro showing me who's a racist.
(bangs head against wall)
We should probably stop asking white people questions about race, as we've proven over and over that about 90% of us are completely incapable of providing a non-racist and competent answer.
