You’re perfect for Bernie. You’ve decided in a logical way that the problem doesn’t exist and that the real solvable problem is X (in his case, economics). Then, when someone comes and says “Hey, your campaign staffer is sexually assaulting us” you can say, “That’s just a social construct” and mutter something about

To the thread: Can we all stop using the work “bitch”, for obvious reasons.

You’ve never experienced or offered a sincere apology? They exist.

Sanders is blind to it. He’s got his thing (economic divide) and sees everything through that lens. He’s arrogant and so anyone who disagrees just doesn’t get it. He’ll sell you out in a second if it means the “greater good” (in his eyes) benefits. He doesn’t get race. He doesn’t get gender.

Teacher here. That shaking hands stuff is nonsense.  It makes me so mad because the kid with power always knows a) he’s not sorry, b) he won.

I thought you were going to talk about the use of blockquoting.

This makes so much sense (really). I’ve seen plenty of those “Highest Paid State Employee” pieces, groaned and found another article. It’s the coaches!

I’ll define “art” as capturing truth. Under that definition, it has value in that it moves society forward and towards an ideal. It might inspire movement towards or cause us to move away from. Under that definition, criticism can rise to art, too.

Is life worth living without art?

Teacher here. The path from “idea” to what happens is long. I can imagine, from the Rock Hill’s statement, what they thought they’d do.

The radical idea that, perhaps, don’t be a douche. Or, really, you have a role in telling others not to be, perhaps, a douche. That radical idea is why the pushback is so sad.

To get meta, your comment on criticism is criticism.

There has been more of a push-back on the stereotypical white male character and story creator, too. More characters are diverse in their use of violence, relationships with women and the like. The macho stereotype is being dismantled, as is the nerd, jock and the like (just a little, but progress!)

Context is everything, including the time the media is made and the world that is happening around it.

I keep my lies simple and believe them enough that my mother could never tell. If I could have sociopathic tendencies I’d be quite successful, but I have a huge guilt complex in adulthood.

I get mad watching people idle their trucks when they run in and chat at the Quik Stop. Then, inside, they buy bottled water and and some overpriced power bars for their job site. Total, their stop has to be an hour of pay.

Random:

We had an at-home midwife birth. I was against it, at first, but when I did some research into hospitals and the data around at-home vs. hospital births I gave in to my wife (she’s the one in the action seat, after all). We had two great experiences.

Just a few bad apples. Nothing to see here.

Let me offer a few tangential question: What show did/do you love at the beginning, but when you go back it is painful and you’d never have watched it now?
