In the name of all things Janet Damita Jo Jackson...’eff Timberlake.

Just think, if Malachi had invested that 3.5 years into schooling, he probably could’ve been entering medical school instead of getting out of jail in the end. Smh.

Fuck your paper route, this guy had a fully functioning medical practice by the time he was seventeen.

I was walking to work one morning and saw a woman strugling to hold open her workplace door while trying to get her bike in. Being a cyclist and the norm is to always be helpful to your fellow cyclist, be it loaning them a pump or giving them your spare tire, I instinctively reached over to hold the door for her. She

BLACK children.

When I was younger and cruising around the lake one night in the rain, I saw a stalled car. As I passed it the man was waving me down. I slowed down and backed up to help but then I got scared that he might not really be broken down and that he was waiting there to attack a young girl. So I put my car back in drive

You did the right thing man. I had a woman come at me once with fist full of keys because she dropped a bag on the way up the stairs to her apartment and I absentmindedly stepped on the stairs behind her to hand it back.

A new battery is like $60 (+ whatever AAA/your car’s emergency service charges to go onsite) (- asking the neighbors for a jump). You can probably get those things via Amazon Same-Day Delivery or UberEats nowadays, or something.

Shit like this is why I’m so glad to come to this site everyday.

Those always make me laugh. I always want to tell them to take out the if. Like we know you’ve already called black people that.

But like.....can The Root issue a travel ban against mediocre white guys?

I never comment but this really bugged me. You missed the entire point of this piece. Being religious does not make you delusional nor a crazy zealot. It doesn’t mean you don’t believe in science, or that you can’t be feminist, or pro gay rights. The problem is when crazy hypocrites take over and every else follows

The reason they put up with the colorful choir director is because the choir director is usually in the closet, and as long as he’s in the closet it’s fine. The second he tries to be who he is, there will be a shunning.

I suppose the fundamental problem with West’s usage, in reference to Coates, is that Coates hasn’t ever gone into detail about his economic beliefs and preferences. The most detail has been in regards to reparations, and no intelligent person can claim that reparations would be a neoliberal economic solution to a

The term “neoliberal” has been so misused and abused over the last 2.5 years that I immediately dismiss the person who uses it as a complete asshole. And Dr. West uses neoliberal the way a 13 year old girl from the suburbs uses “like”.

I got a chance to listen to listen to West’s interview with The Root that will come out and a few days. I think it is within bounds for West to challenge Coates’ writings and philosophy in the name of intellectual discussion. I don’t have a problem with that’s. While I like Coates, I don’t think his writings are

I feel like at its core it’s a dispute about someone who has a more Marxist, anti-capialist worldview and views racism through that lens as well, and Coates (and also Obama) who are more centrist/liberal when it comes to economics.

West is salty at Obama because he wouldn’t talk about race and he’s salty at Coates because Coates talks about race too much. At what point does this become Old Man Contrarianism wrapped in a veneer of intellectual thought?
