Unfortunately, a lot of people who fall for this type of quackery don’t really have the money to spare. They scrape it together by scrimping or shorting other more important things, so after they spend the money and nothing comes of it, their situations just get that much more desperate.

The sad part here is that anyone with 200-300 bucks a month or 3k up front to spend on snake oil already has more than enough disposable income to start working at building their net worth.

I worked summers at Old Navy in the ‘90s. The company had a non-recording/photo policy back then, but my manager only brought it up when she saw “orientals” in the store. Her code word for suspect shoplifters (black people) was “coffee-spill”. Her racist ass eventually got fired for stealing out of the register.
