I’m sure this isn’t an unpopular opinion, but anyone who behaves like that van driver should lose their license for life. There’s no excuse for that kind of irresponsibility. That’s someone who has well and truly proven that they are not sufficiently in touch with reality to be trusted with a vehicle.

And for once a cop actually did their job.

Yours is not the only story I’ve heard of this happening. I suspect a fairly large proportion of those trucks have mixed Chevy and GMC branded parts.

Unless you go right to the factory and pick it up. I hear it’s cheaper that way.

Reminds me of a story I heard about a brand new GM C/K truck that said Silverado on one side and Sierra on the other. I suspect American car factories in the ‘70s and ‘80s were a bit slap-dash, even by their own standards.

For those who play BeamNG Drive (and if you don’t, you should), there’s a mod that automatically scrambles all the available option parts on a car. This usually results in mismatched wheels, crazy color schemes, missing seats and body panels, unusual engine options, absurd gear ratios, and unexpected accessories and

After weeks (has it been weeks? it feels like months) of doing absolutely nothing, the police are now going “FINE... I guess we’ll do the bare minimum”. They haven’t done nearly enough to be considered “good guys” yet.

I live on the island and haven’t seen anything (apart from one guy with a sign saying “honk if you have a micropenis”, which I had to chuckle at). There are crazies everywhere, but it seems pretty mild here, thankfully.

It’s a circular Venn diagram if there ever was one.

I feel personally insulted that Source Code isn’t on this list. Also, if we’re counting TV episodes, why no mention of Doctor Who’s “Heaven Sent”?

Neil definitely has some screws loose. I do give him credit for kicking up a fuss about the Rogan thing, but I certainly don’t blanket endorse everything he says. Something about a broken clock being right twice a day.

I was with you until “we’re America’s moral compass”. Yes, we do have Neil and Joni to thank for this particular thing, but that doesn’t mean everyone who’s was born around the same time as them gets to take credit.

Eh... it’s fine. I’d lose the fake snorkel, put knobbier tires on it, and add some beefy fender flares. Maybe paint it an interesting color, too - just because it’s off-roady doesn’t mean it has to look like doom and gloom.

I couldn’t stand Netflix’s “Fastest Car”. It was bad from minute one, but I flat-out turned it off when they dubbed gas engine noises over an electric car.

Looks like a replica of the Mustang from The Thomas Crown Affair.

Top Gear USA is actually one of my guilty pleasure shows. Yes, it’s cheesy and nowhere near as good as the UK version, but I don’t think it’s as bad as it’s made out to be. What does get really old, really fast, is the American nationalist attitude of a lot of the car challenges (i.e. “American cars good, foreign cars

They’re a big player in the EV market, but still a small company compared to the big automakers. The only reason they have 80% of EV sales (besides Musk fanboys) is because the bigger automakers aren’t really pushing their EVs that hard.

Another sleep tip: if you take melatonin, more isn’t necessarily better. The melatonin you take doesn’t put you to sleep by itself, it just tells your body “hey, it’s bedtime”. I fall asleep just as quickly on 2.5mg than I do on 5mg, if not faster.

That actually works really well for me. I can fall asleep watching something boring on a red-tinted screen, but looking at a normal screen keeps me wide awake.
