Tesla fanboys act like Elon invented the electric car. Not only is it a much older idea than him, but even the current wave of EVs was under way before Elon joined the party. The Nissan Leaf came out a year before the Model S, and was a much more accessible car to the masses. (I don’t count the original Roadster…
Electric cars, as a concept, are good. Elon Musk, specifically, is not.
It’s a very familiar vehicle. It’s the car I learned stick in, and it was a shared daily driver for a while before I got my Leaf.
You claim you’re not trying to prove something, but the fact that you think of driving an automatic as “wussing out” suggests that maybe you are, in fact, trying to prove something.
You are paying more attention, but you’re paying more attention to the car, not the road.
Agreed. When I’m driving a friend’s manual, I find I’m actually more prone to mistakes because I’m focusing on being in the right gear rather than what’s outside the car. In my Leaf, the car basically just goes where I point it at whatever speed I tell it to, and I can focus on driving better.
I always found it funny that Cage hits the nitrous when the RPM is already at redline, and it goes higher from there.
That whine is from the gears, not the motors. Lightweight race car means no sound insulation on the gearbox. Gas race cars make the same noise, it’s just drowned out by the engine.
I might actually end up using this. I work in a mall with employee parking on the roof, and my car is always a greenhouse when I get back to it. My usual method of cooling it down fast is just to roll down all the windows and crank the A/C, but it would be much more pleasant if I could cool it down before I get in.
You’re right. I hate the fact that you’re right, but you’re right.
Hot take: this is dumb as hell. Nobody who’s looking closely enough at a car to read the tire sidewalls is going to get confused about what brand the car itself is, especially when it has “BRONCO” plastered all over the outside.
First of all, this is a beautiful car. Challengers look good as they are, and the drop-top conversion on this one is flawless. I especially love how, with the top up, it almost perfectly mimics the roofline of the normal Challenger.
I can think of a few medieval torture options that I’d be okay with for him.
It would have been too much to hope for an interior without a giant touchscreen, I guess. At least it still has some knobs.
The last 5 minutes might actually be my favorite part. It would have been easy to just end it on the train full of frozen people and let the audience decide what happens, but the way I see it, the entire movie has been full of clues to indicate that the “entering a dead person’s memory” explanation is just a cover…
I’m not sure he’s ever been able to drive a car.
It looks exactly how I thought it would look. I like it. It looks good - a nice clean retro design that should age well.
It’s way too small, unfortunately. I was looking at a Kona EV, and it turns out that, despite being sold as a “crossover”, it’s the same width and height as my Leaf and considerably shorter. Take off the plastic cladding and it’s a subcompact hatchback.
