The Ascent is a CVT and turbo. I’m pretty impressed with the CVT in the Forester. I never wanted a new car with all the electronic nannies and gadgets. But here I am with a 19. My hand was forced, an 08 Forester which I still have was nickeling and diming me to death.

Yeah, the engines aren’t very expensive. 2021 we should have an STi that doesn’t have the EJ257 in it.

I also have a 19 Forester Sport with that damn CVT. FA25, thing pulls pretty impressive in S#. You should see the faces on people when they get blown off the line by a CUV. Priceless! I’m also an Ambassador, so I’m pretty loyal to the brand.

I get on the throttle constantly. the power drops off around 6k, that’s when I shift. People that blow these engines are the ones who redline them.

Yeah, these VA chassis are ugly. No clue why Subaru designed their car to look just like an EVO...

It’s the EJ257 found in the STi’s, but in general it’s people treating them like Honda’s redlining the shit out of them. My 05 STi is down for headgaskets at the moment, but I have 160k on the clock and has NEVER been opened up.

As long as we get that stronger 2.4 from the Ascent into the STi, I’ll be happy.
