Why is it so hard for police to understand that denying people their rights helps no one; not them, not the DA, and not the people they’ve arrested.

Perez is equally qualified and I think him serving in the Obama White House is a favorable thing. Just because people on the right think that experience is a bad thing doesn’t mean we have to fall into the same trap.

I am also a textbook definition of the moderate Democrat, but live on the west coast, and I think that either would make a fine choice. Maybe if we stop infighting we can take on the large problems we face.

I agree. Dems need to cool it with identity politics. Living in a very deep red area I will say that Dems do need to go way more left and they(us/me) really need to explain how Republican agendas do not in anyway help these people.

Both Tom Perez and Keith Ellison are excellent choices. Either one will be an advocate for progressive causes. I would pick Perez only because I would rather the DNC chair not be an active member of congress and have to be worried about his or her own seat, but Ellison’s great as well.

Adopted son, very likely abused by Dad. Not excusing his actions but he was created by his farther. He deserves any sentence he gets but in addition to that, any sentence he gets should be tacked onto Jerry’s as well.
