Jalopnik truck comments are never not consistently useless.
Are you underpricing this vehicle at launch too?
I had more or less ignored all the Rivian news until they finally started shipping trucks. I watched a couple of reviews and couldn’t believe the pricing on them, it seemed too good to be true. Really impressive vehicles that had better quality interiors and components than an F-150 Lariat at the same price. I’m not…
Rivian is almost certainly taking a loss on these trucks, with the expectation that they’ll be able to scale eventually, but. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start increasing the price as they come more online.
Nice I actually never have configured a KR, will do. I have a 2016 Lariat with the Camel color leather and have enjoyed having something different than the standard grey/black.
Yep, exactly. You have to option up a Lariat quite a bit to get all the standard Platinum options and by the time you get there the extra money for deployable running boards, premium interior, rain sensing deicing wipers, lie flat seats, etc doesn’t seem so bad.
Came here to say the same. I love being able to cannonball across states. It also comes in handy when I make a deep push into logging country and public lands — nice to not have to worry about gas. My next truck is going to be a powerboost so I’ll miss the V8 sounds and extended tanks but am looking forward to that…
If requested should you comply with opening the window shade?
Of course, there are a lot of factors besides vehicle type.
Base model will not have the large screen, nor will the XLT according to the site. It is an upgrade at best, Lariat or Platinum only at worst.
Not to mention this could incentivize more fast charger build outs in rural areas.
I suspect that’s an option. You’ll probably be starting with an 8" or 10" in the base models.
There isn’t an F-150 that weighs 3 tons. Some weigh as much as a 4-Runner.
A better way of thinking of it is it’s one motor that replaces two.
I have a rack fro my canoe. Works well. Other options for lumber is a rack on the cab and removable goalpost stuck in the receiver.
Short beds are short beds. You can get an 8ft box on one if you want.
Yup this was my experience as well, though I went the other direction.
Getting your post quota in I see.
This is such a bad take.
