No! It’s infuriating. Their logic is that the seat is dirty, which is why they have to hover. (Then they make the seat dirty by sprinkling pee over it, which serves as justification for the next hoverer.) They wouldn’t dare to touch the seat to lift it out of the way. Because it’s dirty.

I'm a white trans lady and it's like, what can I even say here to enhance her message? She's spot on-I see how trans women of color are treated and being trans and white is, relatively speaking, a lot easier. The world is a shitty, shitty place.

I imagine being a black transwoman is living life with the setting on expert level difficulty. What I’m saying is, Janet Mock is gonna get the highest score possible in this game called life.

This is a wonderful event to publicize, Ms. Mock is right, I can’t think of ever hearing anything about the life experiences or struggles of black trans women.

New plan—you have to use the bathroom that you are dressed like. Skirts use one room, pants use the other, regardless of gender identification. You are just doing what the sign says.
