I thought the same thing immediately when I read this, though you've expressed the reasoning much better than I could've. I'm kind of amazed at the proliferation of genuinely bad ideas I've seen promoted on LH over the past year or three. I really feel like it used to be better here...(can I blame the blog layout?

A free alternative to the ones I've seen suggested here so far: Dual Monitor Tools ([dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net]) - the Dual Wallpaper app included in there is dead simple and works fine for me on Windows 7 and with two monitors w/different resolutions.

I'm with him, and I'd like to add that if the goal of your workout is to gain strength, you're much better off being stable/balanced because stability = ability to lift heavier weights = greater strength gains (since muscles only really grow when they're pushed to their limits). If your goal is to strengthen smaller

If the missing n were there, your initial misreading would still be valid...

@Dexomega: you're in a recession, your power consumption drops.

Four meters?

@boe_d001: You also pay of the order of 1000 times less to travel by air, and can go to the other side of the world in 22 hours, feeling refreshed.

@virgil.ierubino: It's because it had such a low profit margin. The CAA required many changes to the Concorde after the accident. When these costly changes were added to the fleet, it became far too expensive an aircraft to operate any more.

@Geisrud: The headline states we don't know why, and then the article goes on to give several reasons, stating that its not any single one of them.

Now let's count the number of internet experts who completely misunderstand the video and think that it's not just one plane repeating itself when you see a trail of them.

Misleading headline.

@wbouille: the reason i facepalmed is because you're overcomplicating things because they sound cool.

@Limited: The UK launches it's planes from carriers in ballistic motion. When they leave the deck, they are essentially projectiles.

@fluffywarthog1029: The beauty of Tolkien's work is that it is not attempting to mirror historical events, or make any kind of social comment.

@sudo rm -rf /: and one 747 not cruising too well if even 5 % of the power were used to generate electricity. ceiling would drop by at least 5000 ft, and you'd not be happy paying $100 for your LA to NY flight, and arriving 1h later.

@Razta: most large jets actually have a small "wind turbine" that extends under the fuselage if the APU and any other power generation fails. it powers the avionics and not much else.
