My guess it that the list of companies includes a lot of developers who are mad that they need to pay for the infrastructure for their own developments.

Having the stadium being owned by the city isn’t a good thing. The main benefit to a new stadium is increasing the value of the teams that play in it. Having a city owned stadium just means that the public has to pay for upkeep, upgrades, infrastructure, and all associated costs while getting little in return.

I feel for you guys, that was such bullshit. I don’t want the Flames to leave but I don’t want the city contributing more than 20% to this thing. I’m really hoping for the best here, here’s hoping enough other people feel the same way.
