Not necessarily. The fa24 in the ascent still has an 86mm stroke.

Screw a hatchback, I want my RWD!
THIS. The engine is made to rev the shit out of. If you’re under 5000rpm you’re not trying to go fast.
O hi there Satan.
200 is fine. But with a good header and tune 220-225 is better. Mine will be on E85 soon for a 10ish HP bump, then I’ll stop. I keep telling myself.
I’d love for this to be true, it’s likely the only thing I’d trade my DD BRZ for.
That’s why Jesus gave us BOOST!
Soooooo it’s a lifted Golf?
New engine and transmission, plus some exterior updates are considered a facelift for every other brand. And technically the chassis is from a 90s E-Class.
Maybe they should have made it RWD like the concept’s proportions promised?
Ugh stop reminding me of the stupid SLC name. IT’S SLK FOR GOTT’S SAKE.

Hah!
Please quit perpetuating the notion that the 86 is ‘underpowered’ in car journalism. It’s not meant to be ‘fast’. It aims for a demographic that wants an affordable RWD car that’s less serious and more fun than the Miata. Some of us would like Toyota to make a 2nd gen, but they might not be inclined to if the press…
Lol no. Any car worth a shit made in the last -oh let’s be generous- 15 years will run more timing on 93, even when it doesn’t require it. It’ll get you marginally more power and a decent bump in efficiency, enough to offset the higher price of premium

‘just’
Next M3 has all but been confirmed to use an automatic with switchable AWD, just like the M5. The DCT is a costly affair with no upsides anymore for a mass production roadcar.
I’m betting on the 8 speed ZF conventional auto from the 3 series. BMW is moving away from the DCT, since the new autos are just as fast and hold way more torque.
Actually in the US it’s about half for the BRZ/86!
