there’s no reason Chicago shouldn’t be going head-to-head with the Mets for NL supremacy for years to come.
We did something like this in 3rd grade (mid-90’s) so I don’t think it’s all that new, I just think the WSJ is really running out of stuff to publish.
No one will ever, EVER top Keith Jackson in terms of college football announcing. I miss his dulcet tones every day.
Any more ridiculous than patriotism or nationalism as a whole?
Zingis Khan is pretty solid IMO
Am I the only person under 30 who unironically enjoys Billy Joel? Does this, consciously or subconsciously, have anything to do with growing up in Long Island? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.
Because cognitive dissonance is at once the greatest and worst development for humanity, ever.
I would object, only because that book is abjectly terrible (I was an Econ major and probably tilt rightward on several fiscal issues).
Have you ever thought you were stuck in an elevator and then promptly start evaluating all of the unpleasant ways you’re ABOUT to die? And then you get to your floor and your coworker is like “Holy shit are you dying?”
Rembert’s report from Ferguson is one of the greatest columns ESPN has ever run and frankly, ever will run. This is, plainly, awful.

Cognitive dissonance is a beautiful thing. My parents and grandparents have more and more trouble reconciling Woody Allen with his movies with each passing year.
“Strange hours (Jewish outfit)“ is without question the best description I’ve ever heard of my people’s tendency to become reverse vampires every Friday around 3:00 pm.
Ok so given that the author is actually the Black guy giving people like you and me advice, I’m inclined to think he brought pasta salad to a *white* barbecue. Good taek though.
Great article and I totally agree with everything you said.
It’s interesting that they call out Nick Marshall and Auburn in the article, given that Gus Malzahn’s scheme is basically the prototype for the exact offense that they’re describing - minimizing the impact of the quarterback and taking most of the pressure off of him.
