A little money is a dangerous thing.
A little money is a dangerous thing.
I wonder what came first, the voice or the personality. Like, at twenty, was he the kind of guy who would say, "I invite this young man to fry in hell," and then recognized that it didn't go with his naturally squeaky voice, so he learned to speak only in the mid-Atlantic accent that carried him through twenty years…
I actually did not know that, so thank you for sharing it with me.
THAT'LL put pills in your jellybeans!
Is this your first time reading anything by Nathan Rabin?
Ugh, that's terrible about the Niles connection. I had no idea. They easily could have named his brother something else. I wonder if the showrunners just didn't know?
I've never seen Kelsey Grammer in any role but Frasier (well, I mean, Sideshow Bob, but that's basically Frasier if Frasier had hair and were less insane). Then I clicked on the clip of him doing standup that's embedded in the article, and very early on, he says "coo-oool", which is probably the last word Frasier or…
You see, there are these jellybeans…
Just like Nathan Rabin in general.
It is amazing how little pop culture I'm familiar with and/or how little attention I pay to the stuff I am familiar with. I just did a quick skim of his Wikipedia, and, yes, we're looking at 100+ credits, many of which I've seen multiple times. He was in "Joshua"! (Which might be my pick for the most underrated movie…
Re: conflating "not hurting anybody" with "cheating somebody", let's look at his solicitation of the Sandpiper clients when he was with Davis and Main, which Chuck shut down. When he was soliciting those clients, he was not hurting anybody; he was, however, breaking the rules that are designed to keep lawyers from…
I was surprised to see Kayla refer to Colin Sweeney as a "fan favorite", but then I came down and read the comments, and, yes, it appears that he has some followers. I've always thought he was the worst part of the Good Wifeverse. Though it deals with some pretty heavy moral stuff at times, TGW/TGF is usually pretty…
I agree with you about the quirkiness - it's getting to be a bit much.
Lenny was David St. Hubbins?! I have seen all three of the movies you mention and thought, "Hey, I know that guy from something!" and never put together that it was Michael McKean. Wow. Mindblowing. The only thing I've seen him in where I've recognized him was the "Friends" where he was peddling Mockolate.
I spend 90% of my time on this comment board - and, you know, 85% of my time overall - sticking up for Chuck and arguing that Saul is the worst, so I just want to do a detour and say that this cast is amazing. I'm not sure if anyone, anywhere, will ever top the achievement that was "taking the goofy dad from 'Malcolm…
Okay, not trying to be an asshole here, but I'm actually curious.
Yeah, I can absolutely see where my comment sounded that way, and apologize to anyone who was offended by that part of it - I get a bit carried away with how much I hate (guy Bob Odenkirk plays) and sometimes get hyperbolic. My education/career path is actually a lot like Jimmy's, with two degrees from a…
Fair point, well argued!
Oh, agreed. Chuck isn't *likable*. I just think he's a "good" person. That doesn't make him interesting or fun to watch.
I guess it depends how justified you think he was. To me, what Jimmy did to him was so incredibly low that I think literally any retaliation would have been justified. You don't gaslight your mentally ill brother into thinking he made a mistake he didn't make.
