Klaus politely smashing the patriarchy in this series is what gives me life.

It's a very embarassing song to sing in public, though

Netflix kept skipping the theme song for me. I didn't figure out that they would change it till I was halfway through the series.

And was it just me looking too much into things, or did they also get kind of political in that episode?

That's kind of the joke, though. One of the major themes of ASOUA is how the children are constantly underestimated by the adults in their life, and the patronizing definitions are part of that.

Yessica Haircut was the best part of that -admittedly lackluster- scene

I never read the last few books, so it did seem plausible to me that the parents were a plot twist that was just incorporated earlier in the series.

I second Greg's Drinking Song. Doesn't matter how often I hear it, I still laugh

Being happy is selfish! Remember that we suffered!

THAT'S WHO HE REMINDS ME OF!

What? No love for the "Remember That We Suffered" Song?

It's not so much the quality as the style. In the movie everything had this victorian look (at least, that is how I remember it), but the show mixes the aesthetics of various different time periods. I preferred the consistency, myself.

Just looked it up, I would've never guessed that meaning!

Part of the reason why I related so much to the siblings in the books. They talked like walking dictionaries, just like ME!

I never really realized it, but Snicket's running joke of explaining difficult words is a genius way to get around the limitations of age-appropriate vocabulary. Want to use a difficult word, but you're afraid you're readers might not understand it? Just explain it, right there on the page!

I actually really like the theater troupe, they all really have their own personalities now. And they're hilarious. Especially Henchman of Indeterminate Gender and Hook Hands are quickly becoming some of my favourite characters

I have waited so, so long for this series, you guys have no idea…

As I remember, season one Suzanne was pretty much on her own, and not yet adopted into the black group, as she is now. I think having a support system helped a lot with controlling her temper, and knowing how to respond to difficult situations.

It's strange, I actually feel a lot of chemistry between Kimmy and Dong. Charles was boring, Keith less so, and I wouldn't mind it they'd end up together, but he's still not my favorite.
I just feel that Kimmy and Dong would make a very good match in terms of personality and experience. Plus, I don't feel like Kimmy
