See, I didn’t read Serena’s comments as graceful. I thought it was passive-aggressive and the subtext clearly was, “I’m so much better that the only way I can lose is when my opponent improbably plays better than she’s ever played before.”

I’m a girl, so all my life I have been told that my clothing sends messages to other people. If I wear a skirt that is a little too short or a shirt that shows a little too much cleavage, I am apparently communicating that I consent to being groped or worse.

I’m definitely saying Toyota is better than BMW. Toyota makes a better engineered, higher-quality product. BMW makes disposable status symbols.
