This was basically going to be my response. the way she handles this can be such an important building block in a good relationship, or it can be the establishment of her daughter not trusting her as she enters into teenaged years.

at this point, I'm only watching the last season because I invested so.many.years following these characters' journeys. I could have done without the entire last season. The crazy Barney/Patrice/Robin thing. Ted telling Robin he's in love with her AGAIN. The entire season was grasping at straws, trying to tell stories…
