My homepage is an HTML page on my site with a table of bookmarks. The ones I use often are there. The rest - when I want them, I can find them on Google.

The ping shortcut/tool mentioned by Rob P ([network-tools.com]) can be used to get an idea how slow a server is.

OK. Copy/pasting HTML didn't work. Is the pre block allowed?

I use the Firefox extension Stylish to style my Wiki pages to something more minimal than the default.

The ping command (ie see Rob J's [network-tools.com]) reports the round trip time to a site.
