They don’t need any permission. AI art engines generate brand new images. Every last pixel is brand new. They are only “trained on” other art images. It’s morally identical to you thinking about other paintings with your brain and then painting something new inspired by what you thought about.

Lots of misinformation about AI art has been flying around at the speed of light this week. Anyone who tells you AI art steals something is demonstrably lying about how the technology works.

You’re very loud and one-note in your indiscriminate condemnation of AI art. Which in some ways, makes it cathartic to know that AI art is here to stay. It is a bigger technological evolution than going from pen and paper to digital was for art.

That fact that you think VR is just a different way of displaying the same old content, like 3D TV, shows you don’t understand VR.

VR is not the 3DTV of 2020s. It’s pretty much took vehicle simulations to the next level and don’t get me started on worlds like Skyrim VR or a modded Commonwealth of Fo4VR.  PCVR is VR.  Not Quest 2 wireless Beat Saber.

This movie deserves a 4k re-release if there isn’t one already.
