Just seems like inappropriate boundaries to me. I hate my sister's boyfriend/fuck buddy, but I keep my piehole shut because she knows that I'm not a huge fan and if she married him I'll keep my piehole shut then, too, because it's her life, not mine. The only thing harping on my distaste for him would do would be to

That seems like a supremely inappropriate thing to tell someone on their wedding day, true or not. :/

I am really torn between enthusiasm for the burgeoning LBGTQ rights and acceptance, and fear that I'll actually see the banning of abortions in my lifetime. It's frustrating and scary.

Right? Yeah, she's still self-centered and probably pretty ignorant of other peoples' problems, but not everyone is going to come into this world with an extra helping of empathy. At least she saw the light eventually.

Is it really that much of a stretch to think that she brushed aside racism she previously encountered until she had a small human to protect and suddenly all of that previous racism became really obvious? Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

It might also be the lighting. I was disappointed with the dress until I saw the instagram photos where you could actually see her skin without the bleaching effect of all of those stupid flashbulbs and she looks much better.

So how on earth do people safely have conversations with passengers in their car?? Should we just never talk in a vehicle ever?

Montana. Catcalling is few and far between, (in my experience at least) and while it does happen, my friends are apparently just prettier than I am :)

Of course you don't see it you're a dude, and probably a white one. I'm white, and I don't see racism very often, and certainly not as often as a person of color does. Racist statements bother me, but they don't cut the way racist sentiments directed at one's own group would. That lack of emotional connection to

So you would rather go with your own experience than listen to people who have ACTUALLY experienced the things we discuss?

Agreed, it's skeevy and disturbing. What did the guy want to do, bust in an old lady's windows because she was a brat at a restaurant?

Thank you! Seriously, the dismissiveness of the posters about this are maddening. Just because it isn't the same as the objectification of women doesn't mean that it's not a problem.

I know that feeling. It's pretty depressing. :\

Heh, same. I felt positively curvaceous when I broke through the barrier from a A cup to a tiny B cup.

Well that got me thinking of this...

American Girl is the very best.

Oh scones, I thought I was the only one and always feel stupid sappy when it gives me the feels.

I love Tom Petty so hard. I probably only appreciate him because my mom always played Fleetwood Mac greatest hits and Tom Petty on road trips when I was a kid...I think I missed out on the good stuff. Darn being born in 1990!

My mom insisted on paying for half of all of the bridesmaids' dresses so they wouldn't have to foot the whole thing. The dresses were all about $150, I think, and I bought them all jewelry as well, but I do wish the dresses were more reusable. :\
