Absolutely agree with you. I’ve been driving manuals for 21 years and always downshift to take advantage of engine braking. These last 10 years I’ve done a lot of towing of a small boat, and downshift even more. Only ever had to do one clutch job ever - and that was on a 1990 Mercury Tracer that my 2 older brothers…

I liked them. They were somewhat bland (though not anymore than 90% of american cars of the time), but they are very comfortable and are a good relaxing freeway cruiser that with the v8 was reasonably powerful. I also think they have aged better than a lot of cars. They look dated, but not in a bad way necessarily.

I for one has seen what a motorcycle chain “failure” at high speed can do to the engine, frame and rider. I would be terrified to see what kind of damage this Datsun’s long chain and sprocket set would do.

Except the Focus ST isn’t necessarily better. Yeah, it has 50 more horsepower but the larger size and longer wheelbase makes it a lot less fling-able. Seconded. My recollection is that “N.E.S.” caught on quite a bit AFTER the introduction of the game system.

Yea, it was “lets go play Nintendo” until the SNES came out. That doesnt change the way it was advertised or that it has always been N.E.S and S.N.E.S for differentiating the two.

Its was a “Nintendo” until the SNES came out. You had to differentiate the two (we still said “Regular Nintendo” pretty often). Also, around that time your parents started calling every video game “Nintendo” so you definitely couldn’t call it that.

Anyone who was alive when these came out knows that these will always be the N.E.S. in America.
