While we’re on omissions, no Zootopia?

I’m five or six in. So far, I’m thinking the Odyssey one worked best overall and, as satire, Trump as Polyphemus was amazing (“. . . my two eyes. . .”) I just wish Dot’s last line wasn’t so ham-fisted. The Halloween-y security cam one was pretty solid, too.

Hahahaha, goddamn, must’ve accidentally clicked through on that retro rig article and thought I was still on the other one. Mea culpa.

My GTO survived around 150K miles over fifteen years before some twit whacked it. Lightly modded and the LS1 barely even seeped oil. They’re tough motors as long as you’re not going for the absolutely ludicrous power and take forced induction pretty well: there are tons of people who’ve been running with a blower at

I have the older version of the SN30* and never noticed any weird behavior on the D-pad.

*One major sin that every article I see on these controllers commit: 8bitdo revised the appearance of the controllers to avoid Ninty’s ire. I actually have the SNES one in the picture. If you buy it today, you will not get that

The SN30 does, the SF30 does not.

Honestly, it’s a moot point if you’re asking because you preferred the Super Famicon colorway but wanted the concave buttons. Sadly, 8bitdo revised those controllers into a slightly less “trademark/dress infringing” design some time ago. Mechanically, the newer controllers are

Honestly, that engine was my first thought. The older Ecotec engines from a Solstice/Sky might be easier to get running, though, as I’m not sure how much “brains” is required to run the 2.3 Ford. ECU, obviously, but as integrated as these new cars are I wouldn’t be surprised to hear there’s hook-ins to the BCM, for

Exactly. Any of the regular LSx/LTx family is easily found. It’s true that the aluminum engines will carry a bit of a premium, which is why these iron blocks are a steal if you’re doing something where the added strength is a benefit and the added weight is inconsequential.

I might be being a bit facetious. Still, any weight you don’t need up front is bad and there’s easily sourced options that are a better fit for this car than an iron block Vortec.

I’m not denying you can’t build these engines up so you’re just preaching to the choir. I said in my post you can pick and choose almost

Doubling down on not taking the LS: it’s almost certainly an LQ4 iron block. Unless you also happen to be looking for a modern engine to drop in your classic muscle restomod along side a 944 project, the no engine option is probably still the best choice.

I had to double-check but you don’t want this lump in this car. While it’s more-or-less identical in design to other LSx engines and you could swap most of the fasty bits onto it like swapping LEGO bricks, there’s a huuuuuuge problem:

The L96 6.0 Vortec is an iron block.

The annoying thing with the Vortec truck

Nice Price for the $2,000 no engine option. Pick one of the Eco-twins (-boost or -tec, depending on which blue you bleed) and get to it.

Because it isn’t, on both counts. Not much changes in the bay, and in many ways this is easier to package than BMW’s setup. I see enough weird when I work on my E90.

These two engines are from the same family, and the Hellcat is a direct derivative of the NA motor. (More specifically, it’s based off the Dodge Ram 6.4L

Sooooooo....... new BRZ officially announced, yet the WRX still somewhere out in the wilds. Do they even have a reveal date yet?

One of these days I really need to look into why they went with a ratio for the second number. The logical assumption is it would be a straight measurement as well. But...............

Tire-sizing is a fucking disaster: a might maybe present tire-type/sidewall-to-sidewall width in millimeters*/a ratio of sidewall height

It doesn’t look like an angry robot. Is the “Sieg Zeon!” era of Japanese car design finally coming to an end?

Lemme articulate this in a language you’d understand, given your handle. The N54/55 blocks, once you ditch the turbos and plumbing, aren’t any bigger than the N52. The Hellcat and Apache are roughly the same size along the X and Z axis, and would sit at the roughly same depth along the negative Y. That was the soul of

I think it was less about flippage and more about having 6.2 liters of hot aluminum trying to rapidly occupy the passenger compartment. I’m also not sure what this V8 model gets you outside of bragging rights. I know power (read: torque) is always good but gearing is king, and David’s breakdown the other day shows the

Hmm, this is probably the answer. For some reason I could’ve sworn the Trailcat was based on the current JL.

God help them if they find out fedoras were originally worn by women.
