Exactly. Any of the regular LSx/LTx family is easily found. It’s true that the aluminum engines will carry a bit of a premium, which is why these iron blocks are a steal if you’re doing something where the added strength is a benefit and the added weight is inconsequential.

Doubling down on not taking the LS: it’s almost certainly an LQ4 iron block. Unless you also happen to be looking for a modern engine to drop in your classic muscle restomod along side a 944 project, the no engine option is probably still the best choice.
