On one hand, it appears to be in great shape. On the other hand, there’s no detail on the how and why of that new engine. Also, as yesterday’s comment section bore out: you can get better German steel with more hersp’ers and spin all four wheels for the same price, if not cheaper. Nope, nope, nope-itty, nope.

Yeah, I had the same basic reaction. I’m sorely tempted to pick up an E92 M3 before the prices start going way up but I’ve got Bronco ambitions in a couple years.

Define “normal tools.” I’ve an E90 335i xDrive and, outside of having to buy a full set of internal and external Torx sockets, it’s been no harder to work on than any GM product. Easier, is some ways. It’s certainly claimed less blood than my GTO did.

I’d suspect customs is on to that game. A pile of drive-train parts labelled “tractor parts” would probably probably catch less attention, pass most casual review, and I’m not paying for a bunch of dead weight. Ship the other stuff in a different crate; interior/exterior trim, seats, A/V, lighting, wiring and modules

Easier, true, yet more felonious.

Another person and I were talking about what to do in these situations in another thread. Requires a bit of fuck-it-money but buy one of those German market Touregs, strip it to the screws and send all the good bits home in a crate. Scrap the chassis. Buy the first cheapest non-runner clean US-titled Toureg with a

This going to be interesting. There’s a ton of companies popping out E9x fascias patterned after newer iterations of BMW. They’re gonna work in reverse this time, producing G80/2 compatible fascias based on the older cars.

And that was more or less my thought. You could easily get a clean, far lower mileage example of a comparably-equipped E9x for the same money.  The pricing on this clapped-out shit-trap is delusional.

I agree on the basic concept of this editorial (Cheeto’s an idiot and this is another in a train of shitshows it’s put its stubby little paws on) but there’s some inaccuracies and lack of context. I do feel this chestnut worth addressing now, though. . .

I’ve got an E90 335i xDrive with a manual. Damned if I’ll be getting rid of that any time soon.

It’s strange how they constantly fuck this one crucial aspect up every damn time. If it’s not forcing you to take the lesser engine* than you’re locked out of the rest of the good option packages. I was afraid for the Bronco when I heard you can only get the turbo-four with three pedals, and then out right pissed

I know, I waffle back and forth on that, too. The Versys-X or KTM 390 ADV have solid road manners, which is valuable to me as even though I live on the far-edge of the Philly ‘burbs, it’s still a solid half-hour to an hour ride to really get out there. That said, once I get out there I want something almost unkillable

Something I wonder about these sorts of things. Couldn’t they park, like a three or four stage CAPTCHA somewhere in the purchase process? Yeah, I know it’d annoy people a bit, but if they’re properly implemented it should screw all the bots.

“Don’t fuck with the formula” as Mike Love apocryphally said. I actually currently ride the EX250's whipper-snapper over-achieving grandkid, a 2019 Ninja 400. You can do a lot under the skin without diluting the formula.

I’ve no doubt it’ll be a “good” car. Still, a warmed-over Z car that I could play 2010's car BINGO

Except those two Mustangs barely share screws and fasteners. Even though you can almost perform the Folgers Crystals challenge with the Zeta and Alpha Camaros, they’re still completely different cars. In the case of the Z, it’s the notion that this is yet another iteration of what is now an eighteen year old platform.

Now that is cool, but I have a pretty firm no-front-drum rule. Aft is fine, but I want bite up front. And as someone who has managed to Superman himself, it’s daaaaaamn hard to bring up a tail with modern ABS, which I would call a bare-minimum necessity of anything plated and insured.

I dunno, well, hey, let’s ask MotorTrend, who asked Nissan:

Nice! Also, sound logic. Doooo eeeeeettt!

That’s part of why I’m eyeing up adding a CBR650R or the Svartpilen 701: need something a hair bigger for two-up riding, but that’d only be around the Philly area* so I just need (well, want) a little more power to make it viable. I’d rather the 701, I think, but the CBR’s been

If I lived in the city proper, I’d totally pick up a Vespa to scoot around on.

The light-to-middleweight segment is exploding right now, as are ADVs. The “beginner” category basically all bumped up to around 300-400cc’s and focused on the sport, naked and ADV markets. Kawasaki and KTM arguably have the most compelling

Take a look at the Kawi 400 twins: as I mentioned in another post, I’ve a Ninja and my wife has the Z. At 6'3'-ish, I’m comfy on both bikes. The Z’s obviously a little more. . . spacious. I don’t care if I look like a Russian dancing bear on the tiny bicycle as long as that holds true.  Honestly, there’s part of me
