Not even gonna lie, I had a blast watching the first one. The entire experience was too similar to watching anti-classic The Room (“MEANwhile in SEATTLE”) and the toast scene is unintentional comedy gold.

Queen Nzinga. And as much as we need representation of African Americans beyond slavery, I always thought the stories of Ellen and William Craft and Mary Bowser were pretty badass.

I have a feeling that the inevitable backlash against dark ‘n’ gritty has begun to show up on-screen and we’re in for a new age of spy/caper action-comedies. YMMV as to whether Kingsman: The Secret Service started this, but watching that movie was a breath of fresh air.
