If outerspaceexplorer had a lot of relationship opportunities I think that it is really rich of her to come here and complain like this. Way to derail the conversation. But we will never know unless she elaborates.

I think that your anecdotal experience is exactly that, and when discussing society, it is important to keep in mind those people that you do not know.

I do have opportunities, the game is not over. But I need to make a concerted effort to make good on what opportunities I do have.

I guess. Keep in mind you first wrote, “I’m a guy,” to explain why you cannot use online dating. Now it seems as if you more specifically meant, “I am a not particularly handsome or charming man.” There is quite a bit of difference.

When you say you cannot use online dating because you are male, I find this interesting. Your friends nod. Why?

Shall we talk about how women “expire” after 35 while man don’t? Men are considered viable and sexy until...well, forever. However, most (older) men won’t date women their own age. I’m 50 and men my age want someone who’s 24. So that feels pretty damn hopeless.

I just looked that up. It looks hawt.

Hi, I am also chronically single. A 32 year old man. But the thing is, I am usually considered quite handsome, funny, and interesting. I guess I can’t put it all together. I have these attributes, but I lack the “game” to convey them. Also, I am exceptionally skinny and became good looking rather late in life, which

It seems as if we agree more than we disagree, right?

When Michael and Fawcett died I was working on a project with a lot of 50-something gay men, so...yeah, maybe it really is just my perception that Fawcett was mourned more than she deserved. That last sentence makes me feel so cruel, but I think you know what I meant to convey.

Hi, I am a chronically single 32 year old man, and I really wonder why you think that men can so effortlessly pick up new partners. I truly cannot understand how a woman might think that.

I am a chronically single man and it always disappoints me to hear about how many men are really not contributing to their relationships and marriages. Especially with vacation planning. I love planning vacations and cannot imagine considering that to be a chore.

I remember when Jackson and Farrah died. Yeah, Jackson’s death was a huge deal. I remember thinking Farrah was getting more attention than she deserved. At the 5th time I heard a group of people eulogizing Fawcett, I asked, “Can anyone name one thing she did besides one season of Charlie’s Angels?” Crickets.

I had never heard that “something missing” quotation. Did George Michael say it? What does it mean? Is it saying that true stars are always searching for something? Or that to become a true star it helps to have some aching yearning in your soul, like how most British rock stars had such troubled childhoods.

Bowie was actually 69. But he lasted pretty well for a guy who lived as hard as he did.

I think the knocks on Baez are that she’s more of a folk artist and that most of her music is cover versions of other people’s music. She’s not the only interpreter in the hall though. Elvis didn’t write most of his songs.

nine inch nails is not eligible. An act is eligible 25 years after the first record. NIN debuted in 1992.

I think that threat of punishment does deter crime. Since we can’t get into people’s heads, this can never be proven, but it is interesting to think about.

Is it really mansplaining and whitesplaining if white men are discussing the feelings of white men?

Yeah, many buildings in San Francisco have rooftop gardens that are open to the public, and most people do not know about them. they’re pretty great.
