Those magazines, particularly Elle Girl, were probably aimed at an older demographic than 8-12.

Hi, I am a man, and I disagree. I don’t want to compare the body image issues of girls and boys. You probably think that girls have more severe body image issues, and you are probably right. But that doesn’t mean we should dismiss the body image issues of boys.

Well, the man, Jona Bechtol, was surprisingly born in December, 1980, so his status as a millennial is unclear. But the “borders” of those generations are unclear. He is probably a millennial at least spiritually.

Yeah, I think it’s even worse in porn, where everyone is a porn star. Yeah, porn is worse, in all ways.

I think that older artists are more likely to hit #1 these days because their demographics now are a big part of the public who are still purchasing music.

I think it is kind of crappy to feign emergency phone calls to end a date you think it “going badly.”

Sometimes I see unattractive women post on instragram, “I am fierce and beautiful,” and they go viral with 3 million likes. I wonder if a man can do that. Could a man post, “I am so handsome!”? Not really. In fact no. Same with, “I am so charming!”

Yeah, these dynamics are shitty for everyone involved. I think that if we redid society, women would still be judged based on their looks, and men would be judged primarily based on personality, but I wish it wasn’t so strict and concrete. So, more middle ground.

“But the historical context is that women are constantly told they’re less than,”

I mean, I guess, but, I cringed when Mark Wahlberg rattled off a list of “trashy women’s names” in “Ted.” I think that name shaming is bad since people didn’t do anything whatsoever to choose their names.

Perhaps those “shortcomings” should not be seen as shortcomings.

Yes. I agree. And those are destructive habits. Or they commit suicide like Robin Williams. Our society (and men and women are part of this society) is much more accepting of low confidence women than of low confidence men. This is why this new website “beta male” could be a good resource.

Yeah, in 2016, it is better to be seen as a “jezebel” than a “beta male.”

Pass-fail, really is alpha-beta expressed in other words.

Jezebel is more current than you might think it is. Most American can probably not define or identify who Jezebel is, but most Americans can tell you it is a “bad woman.”

Yeah, and I was defending the name by comparing it to the name of this website we are currently reading.

Today, someone on facebook posted this item on Kristen Bell:

So...do you NOT want men to be more introspective and more self aware of their feelings? If so, that is interesting. If you think that I think it would be quite rich for you to consider yourself to be a feminist.

I think another reason women are more successful with the “confessional essay,” is that people are more willing to listen to women, essentially, complain.

I think that “beta male” and “jezebel” are similar names.
