Did someone say off road wagon?

2nd Gear:

FCA/uConnect has had how many article written on it now about this subject?

And all Tesla gets is a blurb (followed by excuse-making)?

Hey, Gawker, your bias is showing...

No need to worry about any exploit that requires physical access. Ever. Since repair shops, detail shops, valet parking, car rentals and such don’t exist, no vehicle will ever be vulnerable to such exploits, right?

18 months? 18 months ago Jalopnik was telling us there was nothing to worry about and it was impossible to remotely hack a car and people that said it was were fear mongers.

Given the leaking sieve that is the government, perhaps they didn’t tip their hand until they had the fix in place. They announced the recall just days after the Wired story which I’m guessing was intentional. Not everything is a ploy by the company to skirt the rules, the may not have wanted the government or anyone

I mean, c’mon.

The Fiat-Chrysler hack is probably just the first in what will be a long line of vulnerabilities found within electronic components of cars. I hate to be a luddite, but seriously, too much electronics in a car is a bad thing.

I’ve been driving a 4door rubi since 2012 when I bought it new. I can tell you the 18mpg rating must assume a steep downhill slope and a strong tail wind. The best I’ve ever seen in a trip was maybe 17. No complaints though, didn’t buy the car hoping for prius MPG’s.

Love the signs. Nice touch.

are you kidding about the fenders? they’re awesome. you can brush things with them and not care. people cant open doors into your door because of the rock guards... and you can push shopping carts around with the massive plastic bumper.. no paint to scratch.

200,000 vehicles/year is a low production vehicle? Relative to what, the F150?

My Wrangler had just over 1,000 miles on it when I scooped it up, and enough rattles to make you think it’d been around the Earth a couple times.
