Because there’s a difference between cultural relativism and moral relativism. The former: ending this practice will require a feasible, realistic, and culturally competent effort. The latter: Nepalese women shouldn’t have to die because CULTURE.

The problem here is anecdotal evidence vs. scientific evidence. Anecdotally, in my life, all signs point to how potent, synthetic hormones can mess up your body (longterm in my case). In terms of scientific evidence, the pill is harmless. Now, it’s possible that the studies that show problems with the pill lack

Also, there may be DC geography variables that I’m not aware of, but ambulances travelling via highways (i.e. long distances) aren’t usually transporting emergent paitents...

I’ve participated in protests where we’ve literally tackled people out of the way to ensure that ambulances could get through. It’s really not a valid reason to dislike protests.
