Or, more commonly, it can send someone into the depths of suicide without understanding that is happening as a result of the meds. Ditto going off of them cold-turkey or taking too many or changes one’s dosage(s) without the psychiatrist’s approval can also send a person into a suicidal tailspin.

I don’t think most people realize how difficult pill management can be.

I wouldn’t say that is a prefect rule though. I built up a tolerance to my bipolar medication and was dismissed by multiple doctors until I found one willing to give me a higher script and it has been a God send. Doctors can be really dismissive about a patients understanding of how their meds are effecting them.

I have a girlfriend who’s entire fucking life trajectory was derailed by her fiancé when he played fast and loose with a mild anti depressant prescribed to him when he quit smoking. He would just take it whenever he felt like it and he basically tuned into a completely different person, cycling between I LOVE YOU DONT…

Fucking around with mood-altering drugs (the legal kind) is a recipe for disaster that I’ve experienced myself... even when you do things by the book, it can lead to scary changes in personality. I don’t even want to think what happens when you quit cold turkey or suddenly ramp up your dosage on the more potent ones.

I’m easy to please. If we’re moving forward, I’m happy. :)

I care to an extent because Kanye being a star going through this will inevitably funnel at least a little more public interest into mental illness and hopefully lead to more opportunities to educate and hopefully foster more compassion.

I’m seeing some criticism of the fight part of the message. It’s a list of priorities. Run if you can, hide if you can’t, and fight if you’re found.
