I was thinking of friends who add benzos to the mix of alcohol, weed, and other substances they usually consume to “unwind” after a hard week. Super valid, I just think that no one should be tinkering with meds without consultation, even if it’s just talk therapy with someone who keeps tabs on you while you’re going through a medication transition.

Yeah, two people in my life with the education to DIY their prescriptions experienced complete disasters when they went ahead and changed their dosages. I’m all about empowering patients, but it’s just not something we can do - or should do - ourselves.

I’m so tired of picking these things apart beyond this.

I used to work in a hospital with a pretty intense active shooter protocol, and when it came to the fight part, they gave us tangible ideas for weapons of self defense, like IV pole, etc. Fight (after run and hide) is when there is no other option and you’re just trying to survive.
