@not_a_virus.exe.vbs: I think that's what they quoted: "First, you've got regular system updates that add minor features every few weeks, instead of the major system updates (at most) twice a year that Microsoft does."

@talkingstove: so that must be why the camera never came to the iPod like previous rumors said it would. They were waiting for FaceTime.

@ttk2: well now they can use iphone4 cameras for the spy shots

@Garybaldy: i've actually had one in my office for the last 5 years. Someone bought it here and never used it. I tried un-successfully to buy pigtailed connectors for it for a long time and vendors didn't want to deal in small quantities for me. So we still outsource the small amount of fiber stuff we do. I'd always

I used to work at a company that made fiber optics telecom stuff. It was super fun to use those Fujikura splicers. They really walk you through the entire process on the little LCD though, there's not much to it.

@spinnaker0: "but it might point again to Apple's pickiness about [form over function] that they won't let this get out the door"

sounds like Contacts on my iPhone

@lpranal: looks really similar to my snowboarding helmet. either a RED or a Bern.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: but the strings don't span 2 bodies, so at least it's exactly the same when you play an open

@Your_Real_Father: But if the issue is it jerking around they could just put some inertia in to smooth out the fast jitter. There really isn't much of a difference in the video. At least I can't see the issue they're solving with the gyro.

Color me unimpressed? Don't see much of a difference. I'd think they could smooth any issues out with software anyways to slow down how fast you can move. At worst it would lag a little behind if you spin real quick, but it would eliminate the fast jitters.

How do I promote an entire article? This is the first Apple piece written since the whole prototype blow-up that hasn't been written like a rant. I've been reading Gizmodo for a long time and the last few months has been rough, but maybe you guys are getting back on track now. Completely agree with this article.

@AdamKaoru: It's not necessarily running the flash though, it'd just be turning it on and not turning it off. Although I haven't checked the API for the LED flash calls...

About 2 days before launch day I realized I should have submitted a flashlight app for the LED, and just display a bunch of ads on the front screen. Would have taken hour(s) to write, and I don't think ads on the front screen would ever bother me when I needed a light. Sigh... if only I'd realized it a month ago.

I'm pretty sure when he warps he should skip over to the right 20 feet or so

Isle of Man?

@Redrum4breakfast: I had to click the timestamp on the right to get to it.

@armyofchuckness: @Dominic Chan: Plus try playing it in manual when you're like a 7 year old. So fun though.
