Yay, we’re special! *claps hands*

Ah, there it is. I guess I should have looked further down.

My step mother is from the Mississippi, and fried chicken is absolutely a breakfast food, according to her.

With curry powder warmed in butter and poured over both it and a soft-boiled egg.

I think it was more the Kellogg era spa owners, wanting to capitalise on the wellness trend started at their spas...and then the advertising people came along and really got the ball rolling. Before that, *shrug* you just had breakfast and no one really thought about what it was all that much. There are reports of

That’s really a pretty big breakfast.

Yes! Soup was my other suggestion! Even just broth! Great warmup in fall for when you’re not so hungry, but are still a bit peckish.

I was going to say salads. Particularly in summer, when it’s hot as balls at 5 am, there’s nothing as nice for breakfast as a nice, crisp salad.

No it’s not. Check the freezers. Of course, I’m in Iowa, so maybe we’re just special.

But given the reactions, it does appear to be the perfect confection for Yom Kippur.

For the odder ones, it may be best to just order from Chocolate Storybook. They’ve been around forever (okay, well...since 1985, but I was 9 in 85, so...forever,) are much loved, and we’d like to keep them in business, here.

Papa Murphy’s is why I just started buying dough and making my own frozen pizzas. It’s cheaper and makes everything simpler and I can have exactly what I want.

Their flavours just...never sound good to me. Other than the very basic ones that any brand would have, they all just sound too full of junk. Like this one. Cinnamon and chocolate ice creams swirled together sounds wonderful. I could even take the spiced brownie bits. But then add “gobs of cinnamon bun dough” and my

THANK you, I was hoping someone else had noticed that.

Unfortunately, it’s also hard to find for some reason. So many places have bad soft serve it’s unbelievable.

Thanks for forcing everyone to look at my comment, Claire! 😀

Eh, there’s still eating corn around here. But they’re small operations, and not really anything that gets any farther from the state than driving distance. The produce auction generally has big flats of it so there’s plenty, just not really enough to export to the rest of you (unless you’re in a nearby state, possibly

I fully support your idea that adding fruit on anything makes it a balanced breakfast.

French vanilla, but chocolate or salted caramel as options are awesome, as is cinnamon. And, of course, eggnog, but just like the cinnamon, that’s seasonal. We also have a local place that does maple, and a place that does honey and spice (also seasonal, sadly.) Added bonus is if (like me) you have those mornings

Cornmeal waffles with eggnog instead of milk in the batter are awesome with a good maple-bacon-pecan syrup.
