I’m making ramen tonight. The last thing on my mind is trying to do anything with a fancy machine. Just soft boil or poach them the way you usually do, and don’t worry about needing a blowtorch or sous vide machine or any thing. There’s plenty to do with eggs the traditional ways.

Probably because it’s so far back in people’s memories. If you saw it in the theater, you saw it in what, 1995? 🤷🏾‍♀️

The entire meal from Big Night. I have wanted that meal since I first saw the movie.

*nods* My uncle was an OTR driver. It is not an easy (or far too often, safe) job.

Nordstrom Intimates, Ralph Lauren, The White Company. If you like things plain. The RL can usually be found on sale, and Nordstrom Intimates is almost always on sale as they bring in new colors and patterns. Yes they have the cutesy and marmish stuff, but they also have solids and plain patterns like stripes. They’re

Like the contortionist/strength duo with dwarfism from Corteo? Or am I being too specific about that “tiny, muscular” description.

I think it started simply because it looked cool on the t-shirts.

I would kill to have some oxtails right about now. It’s soon going to be too stupid outside (read as “warm”) for braised anything.

You don’t stay looking young if you don’t put in any effort, just ask Elizabeth Bathory.

Didn’t it used to be Midwest, Upper Midwest and Great Plains? That was what I learned in elementary school, but that was a couple of dog’s ages ago.

I think we need to demand a collaborative taste testing of these with the Snacktaku guys...

Er...that’s the best way to eat cream or wheat or cream or rice too. Especially with a bed of highly seasoned vegetables between the porridge and the egg...hmmmm...I think I know what I’m having for dinner...

If you really need toilet paper, as in actually NEED not want, try a hardware store.

Yeah, looking at that, it’s probably a Maid-Rite/loose meat-style sandwich.

Iowan, and it never left, though you do have to ask for it at a place that still has an actual soda counter.

I learned this (well, similar) from a South African friend’s mother. It’s chicken cobble if made with drop biscuits, chicken shingle if made with rolled, according to her. Hers really was a bit more like a pot pie filling though, with a potato thickened stew-like base and no rice.

Stop doing this. Stop calling it a flu. Half the reason no one’s taking this seriously is because people keep comparing the disease to the flu. It is not the flu. It is not flu like. People who get it will most likely not just shake it off like they do with the flu. Stop calling it a flu.

Yeah, it’s never been about making the one thing you own the best example of that thing possible for me either. For me, it’s just about having less unnecessary things about. Less things to trip over. Less things to dust. Less things to have to find somewhere for.

This is what my friend in Ireland refers to as granny food. It’s not bacon like we’re used to using, typically. It’s a solid chunk of it. So if you have somewhere like a Fareway that can get you a good-sized little chunk of unsliced bacon, try it with that (assuming you’re interested in making this, that is.)

Same here. I’m agency side, and *sigh* some people still want to shake your hand and cough all over your office and hand you cash right after they sneeze. I’ll probably give myself non covid-19 pneumonia just from the amount of lysol I keep spraying down my office with.
