Agreed. The 911 jibe is apt though. Both classics.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess you poor bastards never received the Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 either.
I don’t know why you’d exclude real estate (and rent), education and healthcare from inflation. I get that there are various indexes for inflation and that the cpi is just an average, but saying wages have kept up with 2% inflation while rent is increasing 5% every year is just kinda ridiculous, no?
All the performance compromises, none of the utility - what’s to like? Though put a ski rack on the roof...
Google “iceberg home”
West London is becoming Monaco. With shitty weather.
Yeah, it passes the time. Moderate the throttle, ease off the clutch and drift forward, back to neutral. Maybe I just had a particularly user friendly clutch. A bastardly heavy or hair-trigger one would suck for sure.
I always liked the size and shape of the 5th gen hatch- it got chunkier in the 6th. 6th is probably the sweet spot though.
That wasn’t my first thought. I’m not even a linguist and I recognise the base word meaning to raise up. As in lever, leaven, elevate, levity, etc.
Well shit
Galt’s Gulch Chile didn’t go so well.
In the video, the Ford appears to have much lower profile tyres. I wonder how much that affected the cute ping-pong ball test. The taller tyre on the “competitor” car would have expanded more as it came of the leading edge of the hole.
My second car was a 2nd gen Accord hatch with the 5 speed. The next car was a newer, much more powerful Celica with auto. The Accord was a lot more fun to drive. Manual transmission isn’t just shifting the gears - it’s throttle response and using the power curve appropriately. It’s more involving in a way that has…
Fair enough, but it’s not typical. 10-20 over is common but still minority. There’s the odd outlier like your friend - usually fast German cars in my experience.
That is not remotely typical. The limit is 70 mph on motorways (60 on single carriageways with no central divider). 30 mph over the limit means a court appearance and probable driving ban at least. It’s serious.
Beautiful. Somehow I doubt today’s big bloated trucks will be as well regarded in 40 years.
It can carry a mountain bike, what more do you really want?
Love the attempt to steer right while the steering wheels are up in the air.
I hear ya. In that situation - extremely poor visibility and lunatics not driving to the conditions - I’d say the road is simply not safe to be on. There is a limit. Get the hell off that road and find a different route or even just sit it out. Getting to work is not worth anyone’s life.
