Haven’t been that impressed with anything he’s put out, so this isn’t really good news for me. What is good news, though, is that he will hopefully never have anything to do with FF again!

That’s a fair point. It’s still pretty early in, so I’ll probably change my mind a bit as the “hype” passes. Of course his moveset “works” in Tekken, they always do a brilliant job of bringing in a character and making them fit in the framework, like Geese and Akuma. I definitely won’t be picking up the character

Said nothing about him being unrealistic.

All three of the replies here mention the word “realistic”, which is a word I never said nor implied. I’m fully aware of the rest of the roster. I just said his warping/gimmicks seem out of place for the game. There is already a character who warps (Master Raven) and a character with a sword (Yoshi) so obviously what

It isn’t so much the sword that seems out of place, but how he moves around with all that warping crap that seems really unlike a game like Tekken. Obviously it’s early days, and while he is fun to play (if a bit simplistic), some of his gimmicks seem really out of place compared to the rest of the cast.

Oh shit... I did! And omg... you did too!

Haha, well there we go!

I’m sure you got my initial point, Tennis is obviously a bigger and more influential sport by several factors. More people have also bought Injustice/MKX than Tekken/Street Fighter - does this necessarily equate to a better competitive scene? No. Interest in Mortal Kombat/Injustice in the competitive space falls off

“If he liked SFV he would dominate it”

Haha, believe me, I would love for him to jump into Street Fighter/Tekken. Would be more exciting matches to watch! But I don’t think he’d dominate these games in the same way.

What

I’m not downplaying the fact that other people are dedicated to the other games and play them to an extraordinary level, but there is a big difference in the FGC between winning SFV at EVO, and winning at a game like Injustice. Evo 2017 - 2600 for SFV, 800 for Injustice 2. Bear in mind that this was also Injustice 2's

Multiple games, sure, but these games have nowhere near the same kind of community/level of play behind them like the other titles do.

I agree that he is an absolute beast with whatever he picks up, but if he doesn’t play what all the other “serious” players are getting into, then it is easy to talk up his talent, when he’s usually participating in tournaments where there’s really only 3 or 4 other players at his level, when there would be hundreds

I think Badminton was an apt analogy, and NRS games are pretty similar.

I dunno, “greatest fighting game player of the modern era”?

Sensing some sarcasm in this thread. Sorry guys! By all means have your fun!

Haha, you bet!

I mean, it’s not even competitive, you just get assigned the characters, send up your screenshot, and be like “yea, I did that too.” I’m not expecting a $1,000,000 check, but there’s not even bragging rights, because you either finished it, or you didn’t. I’m just saying, there should be a little more to it than that!

What’s the point..?
